Does CBD get you high?

If you’re thinking about using cannabidoil aka CBD, you might be thinking: does CBD get you high?

There are a range of of CBD products which include edibles, vape e-liquids, and topicals. Since the most frequent usage is vaping there is a common misconception that CBD, like the THC in  marijuana, gets you high.

What’s the difference between CBD and THC?

While CBD and THC share many similarities, but they also have distinct differences. CBD and THC are known as “cannabinoids”. THC is responsible for giving users the psychoactive effects also known as getting "high" or "stoned".

However, CBD is a naturally occurring substance that's used in products like oils and edibles to impart a feeling of relaxation and calm. Unlike THC, it is not psychoactive which means CBD does not make you feel high.

How does CBD work?

It all starts with the Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which is a biological system composed of endocannabinoids, which are internal lipid-based retrograde neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors, and cannabinoid receptor proteins that are expressed throughout the mammalian central nervous system and peripheral nervous system.

Why do some people say they feel high?

Some people believe that CBD makes them feel high. There’s still a lot that we don’t know about how CBD works in the body, so it’s hard to dismiss people who may feel high.

However, it may be the the CBD product is reacting with other compounds - perhaps alcohol or THC already in the body.

What CBD products would work for me?

CBD comes in many forms. Finding the right one shouldn’t be a hard task. Simply choose from the form, for example e-liquids, oil, edibles and even drinks. Then, if needed, choose the strength of CBD. This will be a measure of mg.
